Spare of A Girl's Thoughts

"Life is not about finding our self, but how we create it" It's about a girl who is very fascinated about life, but yet hasn't got enough about it. She's kinda stuck between the reminiscent and the future all about but always looking forward to move on and wishing someday, neither force or vengeance would be able to restraint her from her very own freedom.

:: A Story of Two Girlfriends

She is a good friend of mine since we were in high school. Since we were wearing white tops and grey skirts plus knee length socks in addition. She was smart, talented and unbelievably creative. We were in the same class for only a year, until we went to different majors therefore we're no longer in the same class. She was smart {did I tell you that?}, she was nice and sweet, too.

But now we are really separated. Geographically. We are now in a different continentals where I'm about to sleep while she's going to work. At first year we're separated, we always keep contact to each other everyday, but due to our busy life, we didn't longer do that. But still, we never lost each other.

I love her. She is different from many friends of mine. I love her characters. She is detemined, ambitious and brave. I never forget her courage to face her parents when she decided to stick to christianity. I never forget her stories of sleepless night, she treated uni like hotel, she rarely went back home only to finish her projects. That's why I know that she deserves everything she is now. She is an excellent achiever, I give my respect for her.

I know if it was a coincidence or what, but we have lots of things in common. Not all, but almost. We have similar point of views about friendship, about how we treat each other. She is understanding and a very good listener. Our jokes are always work --really, she is my true soulmate-- that's why it's always fun to talk or chat with her, rather than feel bored. She never got mad when I didn't reply her email, she wasn't explode when I kept secrets for her. She is special and I like her specialties.

And today she's getting older. Yes, admit that, girl :) While you were reading this, may be I'm not the first person saying happy birthday to you, but trully inside my heart, I'm wishing you a happy birthday, wonderful journey of life and tremendous blessings in the future. Never forget Him, you are now because of His work. A masterpiece hand works, I reckon :) Every decision in your life will always be yours...keep being stubborn and reach your dreams.

My prayer always for you Di...
You know who you are...
My loyal reader, my lovely friend in Texas far far away...
but you are always close in my heart. Love you!

:: After a While...

Do you remember those last postings I've written these past couple of months? I was mumbling like crazy and complain never stops come out from my mouth. It's not a good signal, is it? I can't be bothered to always write nice things here, because life is complicated...and so is mine. After past months of my lack of sleep, unreasonable worry and guilty feeling, I've finally come to enjoy my semester break now. Almost I unintentionally feel depressed again, cuz' my plan wasn't about going to come through. But yes, God is good. You never understand what it is, until you go through it.

I value my break like never before. I even value my weekend a lot, especially Sunday. After all those hectic weekdays schedule, Sunday is a day where I can take a deep breath, understand that this world is still wonderful.

There is the difference between 2 kinds of breaks. The first is, a holiday when it takes so long, until I get bored. The result is I have to drag my lazy ass to do important things. And really, lack of activities could lead to time wasting, money wasting and passive brain. I don't like this one. I'd gone through it 3 months in Jakarta at the end of the year. The second is, a holiday that takes not that long. Especially it occurs after the hard works and busy days. After gone through big amount of assignments and sleepless nights, in addition stressing textbook I have to go through, I feel the break is very blissful. I value and will spend most of it..and the feeling...yes..the feelling of winning something and get rid of it! It does feel excellent. Feels like I deserve my holiday not because 'I'm-lazy-so-I-do-nothing' kinda break.

Hopefully this very short break will give myself kinda recharge to face my upcoming rest of the semester. And I hope, I'm fully recharge.

:: On the Second Day

On our second day of the semester break, we went to Lake Mt. It's the closest snowy mountain in Melbourne {2 hour drive}. Unfortunately, we came at the wrong time. The snow was poor and we couldn't do tobogan or ski. Very different compared to last time I went there 2 years ago, the snow was excellent and it was unbelievably byootiful! This one was nice too, we walked along thru the mountain, playing snow and taking pictures. Always love this place...

After a while in the mountain, we went to Marysville Trout and Salmon Ponds for fishing. It was actually our first fishing experience. However, never under estimate our skills. Haha. We got 5 fishes in only an hour. The first fish catcher was Beatrix and the lucky man with 3 fishes was Mike. And Rina, she got a mother of salmon...{it was pregnant when she caught it, the eggs {or you can call it caviar} were falling down on the ground when she picked the fish}.

{Beatrix's first catch}

The next day {which is today}, we ate the fishes for lunch. Niceeeeeee....

:: Wonder where I've been gone? Check these :)

I was off to Holand for couple of days! {nahh...just kidding}

We went to Tesselaar Tulip Festival st Silvan {one hour drive from Melbourne}
on Monday, driving along to Emerald Lake {did nothing due to heavy rain},went back home thru Mt.Dandenong and had lunch at Emas Malaysian Rest at Burwood Hwy {We finished 5 dishes in less than 10 minutes...}

:: The Upcoming Break

It's very lovely to say that my break is gonna start soon. Looking forward for that. The fact that I've been busy arranging schedules and plans from a week ago. I make sure that I'm gonna make the most out of a week. Yes, it's only a week.

Unfortunatelly, somehow *I know I'm not supposed to call it unfortunate!* I've been involved with this dance ministry in the church. We got a special praise and worship night in two weeks and our preparation is like crazy. That special moment is gonna be held on Friday the 29th and the following day. That means, for the whole week of my uni break, I'll spent most of my time at church do dancing practice with music. Or at my house, practise dancing 3x a week.

Well, it's not actually what I had expected before. To be honest. I'd love to stay at home, browsing thru Melbourne's restaurants, and going out of town. I planned to go to Lake Mt. and Tulip Farm though. And looking at my hectic schedule, now i'm no longer centainly sure how my plans gonna run well.

I just need to breath on a fresh air, lemme tell you. I'm actually bored of this city view and it's gonna be great to go thru suburbs and mountains. But I think I have to sacrifice these things and force myself to go for my routine, for my duty. Yes, it's a duty,a duty of honout to serve God. The duty I've chosen mself and this is my responsibility to finish till it's over. I'm not saying serving God is not fun, seriously...it's more than fun. We laugh, fooling around but certainly still in one purpose, to please God. We know for sure that every time and effort we've given, will never vain in the Father's eyes.

Wish me a good holiday, will ya?

"dear Father, You know how I've been waiting for my break and desperately need it. But now, I think I wouldn't be able to have my plan like I've imagined before. But it's okay. I hope You would give me joy during my holiday, not grumpy or boring feeling, but a very sincere heart that I'm willing to sacrifice my most wanted week and dedicate it to You. I know it's gonna be worthwhile and I know You have more exciting plans for me. More fun than what I'd thought. And You're responsible to make me feel that way and keep this fire burning to dance before you. You have to make sure it's gonna be worth it, sending those lost souls to come back to You and it's all will be worth it. Thank You. Love You dear God."

Ps. By the way, why those dancing routines are so complicated and hard to memorize? Haha. I only got a week to go. Help me, okay! Don't ever embarrassed Your beloved daughter. hehe.

:: Have I Told You that this world is so small?

Let me tell you some facts *that were indeed suprise me as well* in my life that corroborate the above statement.

1. Found out that my current bf is actually the son of my aunt's best friend. They are really best friend. No doubt. They even almost introduced us each other before we actually met but we only took it for granted.
2. Found out that my neighbour's boyfriend {they live in Jkt} knows my girlfriend who lives here in Melbourne.
3. Found out when my friend come to my house and when they see my housemate: "How come you're here?" And my housemate would graciously replied, "Why not? I live here"
4. Found out that one of my uni friend was close to my bf's cousin. They were in the same junior school.
5. Knowing that my English course friend in Indo {we first met 4 yrs ago} currently in relationship with one of the girl in my local church here. And another English course friend, a minister, my bf knew him. He went to his church long time ago. They just not barely know each other, they did know each other!
6. I knew this guy first time on the plane. When three of us {me, this guy, and my housemate} were on flight off to Melbourne. He knew my bf's cousin's gf. They come from the same city. Confused? Think yourself! Too lazy to type. haha.
7. Too lazy to type...{another excuse for no more facts available. hehe} But really, I found them so often esp. since I live here. I should be more careful. hehe.

The world is so small. The synonim of this is: Indonesian population are everywhere. Seriously. They are too much...jkjkjk ;)

:: If you think I am satisfied, I'm not. At all!!!

"Yeah...that's true. Even though I never shout it loud thru a newspaper or directly send you a letter, I want you to know that I'm very disappointed and demand better service than what you offer now. I pay you bloody money everytime not for waiting your late coming or to sit on your dirty seat. I think I deserve more, right?"

Huh, the transportation system in Victoria is what I'm talking about here. It's so pissed me off quite often. Not blaming on the current structure or system, neither the location of the station. I blame nothing but the punctuality of timetable. That's it. I can't expect no more, to be honest, since I know exactly that Victoria public transportation is much much more acceptable and enjoyable than what I have in Indo. But still, I don't pay for almost $100 a month for getting grumpy all the time because the train stopped in between two stations without any notices of why. For more than 5 minutes. *arrgghhh*

I read mX everytime I'm on the train. {mX is one of the free newspaper provided for commuters in the train station} Yesterday, I read one letter from one Connex {Victorian's public transportation provider} customers said: "Melbourne train, trams, and bus network is substandard. They didn't at all consider the infrastructure of each station location before it was built. I have to walk from my office at Carlton to the nearest sation in 20 minutes!"

You know what? I don't think I would agree with her, because if I do, I would send Connex a letter complaining, why you didn't built a train station in front of my apartment? D'oh!

My most concern is only about the timetable. Seriously. They come late so often. And still they provide us a report that they've been doing great punctuality performance every month! 98 or 99% something. OMG. It's sooo not real. I mean, compare to what I've gone through almost everyday {did I tell you that I'm one of their loyal customer, and the fact that my uni is 18.3 kms away from home and you can call me a commuter} the report is so bluff. I just ever saw once when the report said they didn't perform really well and provide customers with compensation. It was almost two years ago.

Sadly, I'm still their everyday customer. I religiously on a train every single morning to go to uni. I hope they will do much much better in the future for the sake of customer's satisfaction. With the ticket price increasing year by year, I think it won't be too much for us to demand or require them to provide better services. Yes, we deserve that, don't we?

:: The Art of Singlish

Last night I chated thru MSN with my Singaporean-based friend talking in Singlish. It was very damn funny. He's an Indonesian, but have been there for quite a while. I started first, to talk to him in Singlish. Just to tease him. And of course he replied me so well and made me laugh so hard talking to him.

Everythime I listen to people with Singlish kind of accent, I'm always amused. Surprisingly, I could reply well even though I never live there or live with Singaporean. Well...almost. Because both of my housemates was graduated from Sing junior school, so I am kind of very familiar with some of their favourites words.

Back to this guy, friend of mine. He then told me a story about his boyfriend visited him to Sing from US. This guy is Indo as well. My friend then took him to local shopping centre and they found something interesting: cactus plant. It was interesting because it was so small, and the plant was actually a key holder :) Then came along this sales girl, looking at those guys staring at this plant, she started to explain things regarding the plant. All the guys there were listening to her. When this girl was talking, they didn't respond to her. They just listened and nodding heads. According to my friend, she speak English well, right vocab, straight English *no mixing between English and Malay, such as: "I can not tahan lhaaa...."*

Until this girl finally finished talking and expecting response from her audiences then she ask, "Do you have any questions?" Then this US guy replied back to her, with his very confounding face, said: "Sorry, I don't understand chinese"

My friend: "......."
Sales girl: "......."
His friend: "......."

My friend was like....so embarassed! The sales girl as well. She disappeared a second after listened to that guy's response. This guy also left as soon as he realised what he's done. My friend was like, "vin....malu gilak!!! Gua lgs kabur...temen gua itu juga...tuh cewek juga... hahaha"

That's the art of Singlish I tell you lhaaa....mixing-mixing like rojak lhooo.... hehehe :

:: Favourite Car

I used to be a girl without even one favourite car. Seriously. Even Mercedes CLK or BMW seri 5 never really attract me. I think I was weird back then, yeah?

Last year, I went to Melbourne MotorShow for my very first time in 2004. I never put any interest towards cars and stuffs so I never thought I would go there... But last year, Mike asked me to go to accompany him. After few rejections and got replied by his 'adamant please' so there we went and spent three longest hours in my life {naaahh..just kidding} :)

Do you believe in love at the first sight...I think I do. Cuz' finally I've found my first favourite car after the first time I saw it. This is it...

New Beetle Convertible 2.5
Color:
Harvest Moon Beige/Black Cloth Roof
Interior: Cream w/Leatherette Seat Trim

This car is on the top of my wish list, before ,a penthouse at Eureka tower {hoho} , Hell's Kicthen kind of kitchen and pink mini iPod! Tee hee... Bless you those people who pray hard for these to be fulfilled xD

You know why I love this car? It's not about its features or all that. The thoughts that came in when I saw this car was imagining that this car would be absolutely perfect for a wedding car! Imagine that! I looked at the back side of it and keep thinking about cans hanging under the bumper of the car with the plate saying, "Just Married!".

Just like in those past cartoon movies. Hehehe

:: School

I used to love to go to school. What I mean is I was thinking that uni is the most fascinating stage in my life where we only need to sit down, open the book, do research for heaps of assignments, sit on the test..and voila...you add one more title at the back of your name!

Now I've changed my point of view.

I'm sick of uni, I'm sick of assignments. My eyes hurt looking at the the monitor and read through all the papers. I hate to sit on test. I just had one and it went horrible. I still have 3 more to go in two weeks.

I thought I didn't try hard enough, but now I realize it's not about it...it's about depression and tired feeling that are overflowing my mind and souls. It takes half of my energy and most of my time. I can not make any difference between fun and work, because these past few weeks 'my fun' has been interefered by fears, stress, worry and tired thoughts. Even worse, I no longer have my peaceful sleeps...

I have to get rid of this as soon as possible. But I don't know how...
