:: Introducing You...My Very First Allergic!Couple days ago when I woke up early (ok, it wasn't that early) in the morning and found out that my nose was blocked. In few seconds I understand I just had runny nose and when I was taking my shower, I realise it was quite severe for an early stage of runny nose. Why,,, because I was absolutely fine a day before and I didn't feel any symptoms of about to getting sick! So, I didn't take a medicine or anythings cuz' I was pretty sure it was happened due to the extreme weather changing in Melbourne last few days. Nothing else. Anyway....
And the next day...it became worse. Yes, I did sneeze a lot! I was about to go to city library when the winds heavilly blew and as well as my runny nose. Geez, I was so devastated and got annoyed. I didn't know what the heck was wrong with my body,,,not only because of this almost-every-2-minutes-sneeze, but suddenly my eyes were becoming so itchy and watery . I looked very tired and felt drowsy.
Now guys...have you ever heard about hay fever?
According to the pharmaciest, I am definetely positive for hay fever. After home, I typed for google and checked out some information about this so familiar kind of allergic, and
here what I've found:
"Hay fever is the common name for a condition called allergic rhinitis, which means an allergy that affects the nose. Most people associate hay fever with spring, when airborne pollens from grasses are at their peak. However, hay fever can occur at any time of the year. This is known as perennial allergic rhinitis. It is usually caused by a reaction to allergens around the home such as dust mites, moulds or furry animals."Okay...so it happens mostly during spring time. You know what, spring in Australia was just only started on the 1st of November...and I was attacked on the 2nd? How nice is that... In some cases, the symptoms of hay fever can be so severe that you can't sleep or concentrate. That's why a person who suffers badly from hay ever can feel tired and unwell. Some of the symptoms of hay fever include: - Sneezing [checked]
- A runny or stuffy nose [checked]
- Itchy ears, nose and throat [checked on nose]
- Red, itchy or watery eyes [checked]
- Headaches [not that bad, though]
Okay,,,I think from now on, I'll believe the pharmaciest.
And I was wondering, what was actually happening during the fever. I was fine the other night and I woke up like a walking zombie in the next morning . What's happening?
Hay fever is an allergic reaction. Your nose acts as a filter. The tiny hairs and mucus that line the nasal passages trap dust, pollens and other microscopic particles. A person with hay fever is allergic to some of the particles that get trapped in the nose, such as pollen.
An allergic reaction means the immune system treats a harmless substance as if it were dangerous, and launches an 'attack'. The nasal passages become inflamed and more mucus is produced.
So my nose was launcing an attack ? Interesting fact...even though it wasn't necessary at all. Remember on the fact that I was brought up in a heavilly polluted city, contaminated air and harmful dust from every corner of every place....plus, that unbelievable smokes that came from bajaj...jeezzz... for 6 years, every single day! {kenapa sih di tarq banyak bgt bajajnya???} I used to live under the smoke-blackened clouds and I was fuuaaaiiinnnneeee!
And now??? Why my nose doesn't no longer work that properly like it used to be? My oh my, just wishing for a better weather tommorow *plus without pollens flyin' around and around!*
